
The President of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence in Palestine, Eng. Adnan Samara, along with his deputy Dr. Hussein Al-Araj and the Council’s team, received today at the Council’s headquarters in Al-Rayhan suburb. The Palestinian Minister of Labor, Dr. Enas Al-Attari, during an official visit aimed at exploring avenues for joint cooperation between the Council and the Ministry in supporting the innovation ecosystem and promoting employment and entrepreneurship among youth and recent graduates.
Eng. Samara welcomed Dr. Al-Attari and her accompanying delegation, appreciating the visit, which comes amid the economic and social challenges facing Palestine, and underlining the need to activate national initiatives that enhance youth capabilities and open new horizons in the labor market through innovation and creativity. He emphasized that the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence prioritizes expanding partnerships with official institutions, civil society components, and the private sector to develop a comprehensive national system focused on innovation and entrepreneurship. He explained that these partnerships are essential for empowering innovators and transforming their ideas into viable, economically feasible projects.
For her part, Minister of Labor Dr. Enas Al-Attari and her delegation expressed their great appreciation for the Council’s role in nurturing and supporting Palestinian innovators, stressing the importance of developing a strategic cooperation framework with the Council, particularly in the field of economic empowerment targeting youth and women across the country. Dr. Al-Attari and her delegation noted that entrepreneurship and innovation are key drivers of economic development and job creation. She affirmed that the Ministry of Labor, as the governmental incubator for entrepreneurship, places great emphasis on integrating entrepreneurial thinking into its programs, particularly in qualifying and empowering youth to enter the labor market effectively and independently.
The meeting witnessed an in-depth discussion on ways to enhance a supportive environment for innovation by expanding cooperation in implementing initiatives that empower youth, providing the necessary infrastructure to incubate entrepreneurial projects, and strengthening networking between entrepreneurs, funding sources, and technical support to ensure the sustainability of their projects. At the end of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of closely following up on the agreed-upon matters and developing a joint implementation plan that includes both short- and long-term practical steps to ensure sustainable cooperation and achieve tangible impact on the ground, especially in marginalized areas.
