
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam called for faster development of Vietnam’s space science and technology, stressing the importance of space exploration, technological mastery, stronger cooperation, sustainable development, and maintaining a peaceful cosmos. Speaking at the opening of the Vietnam–Japan Space Horizons 2026 Forum and the inauguration of the Vietnam Space Centre (VNSC) in Hanoi at Hanoi Hi-Tech and Industrial Park, he said Vietnam’s space strategy should be driven by innovation, international partnership, and the principles of “three accelerations” and “three together.”
The forum, held from March 12 to 15, brought together representatives from Vietnamese and Japanese government agencies, research institutions, scientists, and businesses in the space sector. Its goal is to deepen Vietnam–Japan cooperation in space technology, help build a space economy ecosystem in Vietnam, and mark a new step forward in the two countries’ strategic partnership in science, technology, and innovation.
